We are excited to announce two new grants for the Computational Genomics group. The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) has approved a Standalone Project for Sebastian Schönherr on “Intra-Repeat VNTR Resolution and Risk Prediction”, developing open tools to read variation inside repetitive DNA regions and improve genetic risk prediction for common diseases such as cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease.
In addition, the group has been funded through the Interreg VI-A Italy-Austria program for the EKIDNA project, supporting cross-border research collaboration between Italy and Austria.
