Application of polygenic riskscores and validation of clinical utility

This master thesis explores the application of polygenic risk scores (PRS) and validates their clinical utility. Polygenic risk scores aggregate information from multiple genetic variants to assess an individual’s genetic susceptibility to certain traits or conditions. The study investigates the implementation of PRS in clinical contexts, assessing their effectiveness in predicting and stratifying risks. Additionally, the thesis delves into the validation of the clinical utility of PRS, considering factors such as accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. Through comprehensive analysis and validation, this research contributes to the ongoing efforts to integrate genomic information into clinical decision-making processes.
